Thanks to the amazing community, GamersRdy has always been the best place to get Rocket League coaching, and now that they’ve joined Metafy, Metafy is the best place to get Rocket League coaching. That’s just math. Sweet delicious math(s).
But as great as 1-on-1 coaching is, it’s not always the perfect answer.
Let’s say your coach lives in a different time zone and it’s hard to match up your schedules. Or what if you’ve got a big tournament coming up, but your coach is fully booked? What if you had a lesson scheduled but you suddenly need to sit on the edge of your bed and stare into the great abyss for 45 minutes while contemplating the futility of our existence?
Well, have no fear (except about that last thing. You should really talk to somebody about that) because Video Replay Reviews are here!
With Metafy’s new Replay Reviews feature, you can get on-demand coaching from dozens of the best Rocket League players in the world.
Here is what you have to do to get started:
1. Record your gameplay (here is the Metafy guide on how to record your gameplay on any platform – you can also upload to YouTube unlisted and link it directly)
2. Upload your recorded video to Metafy’s built-in Media Vault.
3. Add easily marked, timestamped notes on your videos.
These can be about any specific parts you want your coach to really focus on or provide feedback for, and then book and submit your replay reviews directly on the coach’s page! You can even submit the same clip to multiple coaches if you want a variety of perspectives on your gameplay
4. Your coach will mark up the video with their notes and drawings, pointing out what areas you can improve on and any mistakes you may have made.
If you didn’t make any mistakes, congratulations, you are the greatest Rocket League player in the world. Do you want to be a Metafy coach?
Once a coach accepts your Replay Review, you’ll be notified and the deadline for them to complete it will be represented by a Doomsday Clock on your Metafy dashboard that in no way triggers the end of the world or my severe anxiety.
Once they send the replay back, you can review it on your own time and either apply their teachings or completely ignore them and continue flipping around and scoring on your own goal.
You will always have access to past Replay Reviews, so you can go back and look over them to study your own gameplay habits or just laugh at how terrible you used to be.
And that’s all there is to it! The same great coaching that was always our standard but without the time constraints of a live 1-on-1 session. Think of the possibilities: You can record one of your 1-to-1 live sessions with a coach and then immediately send it to your coach to review. That’s probably not helpful in any way but it IS pretty funny.
Now go out there and play some soccer with cars! (Our lawyers wanted us to add we meant only do that in the video game Rocket League and not in the real world)
